Note: The conservative battery-life estimate with VHF enabled is 3 months at -20°C and 6 months at +20°C, with both batteries installed. The battery lasts twice is long if you disable VHF during deployment.
High impact plastic housing has a battery compartment with easy access/replacement of either 1 or 2 CR123 or DL2/3A (3V, lithium) batteries.
These transmitters are shipped without batteries; therefore, they do not require special shipping and handling, which is advantageous for international shipments and travel.
Units can be shut down with a magnet for short-term storage. Batteries should be removed when stored for long periods of time.
